The second of two extensively-researched publications commissioned by Shawn Seah, Leader and Legislator—Seah Liang Seah shifts the timeframe to the 19th and 20th century Singapore, inhabited by his Straits Chinese contemporaries such as Tan Jiak Kim, Dr Lim Boon Keng and Sir Song Ong Siang.

Pagesetters would be pleased to see more of such efforts from illustrious individuals like Shawn Seah, which would contribute to a ground-up movement in our documentation and interpretation of Singapore history, and a deeper appreciation of history as a discipline.
